Aloha Everybody! Phase one starts now! by John Slavin |
The website has not been updated in some time. I have just added 6 galleries from sessions over the last several months. I will be adding more photos from previous sessions to catch up with the backlog. I have solved my computer system problems and my goal is to update daily after each photo/surf session. I will post all photos from sessions in 3 days or less! Due to the tremendous support of the patrons of JohnSlavin.com (and the sorry state of the Real Estate loan market…) I have decided to become a full-time photographer.I am also about to launch a new edition of JohnSlavin.com! Phase One begins now. The new website will feature; high quality flash sequences, video galleries, guest photographers and videographers, FREE PHOTOS for people who support my sponsors! FREE PHOTOS for JS.com members! Also surfer profiles and photos. Check here for news about phase 2 and the LAUNCH PARTY at Surfindian Gallery!! JohnSlavin.com enjoys a tremendous amount of user traffic, thanks to the abundance of good surfing (and good surf) in Southern California. In the past I have done most of my photography in San Diego County, a lovely and diverse stretch of coast that has a lot of surf breaks and a lot of variety in the type of waves that break here. I am passionate about the opportunity the combine the energy of two activities that I love most, surfing and photography. I grateful that I have been given a gift, an ability to see, shoot and co-create great images. I appreciate all of the encouragement and support that I have received from website users to expand my horizons in my photography. One of the new things on the website is the sponsors that are now supporting JohnSlavin.com. I was trying to think of a way to be able to do surf photography for a living. I thought about the astonishing amount of people that check out the website to check out how the waves have been. There has been a lot of positive feedback about the high quality of the photos. I have had a lot of compliments from surfers who tell me how much they like the website. I have met several great people who are in business and have products or services that they wish to promote. The thought occurred to me that this could be a mutually beneficial situation for everyone! Here's how it goes; Surfers like to check out good photos of good surf with a consistent stream of great shots of surfers. It's also nice for the chance to get a high quality photo of oneself! I know I wish I had more photos of when I was surfing regularly… There are many surfers who have products or services that they need to promote. If you are in business you know that effective marketing is essential for success.I love to shoot surf photography; I am very good at it. And, I have a special ability to get a lot of really good shots of surfers of all ability levels.
